Volunteer
Let’s Go Fishing Detroit Lakes Area Chapter is all about volunteering. We currently have over 55 volunteers trained and ready to take Seniors, Veterans, Youth, and Physically Challenged fishing or cruising on our lake. And of course we have all-volunteer leadership to run the chapter.
If you have the knowledge to operate a pontoon, you can be part of a two-person team who can take Seniors, Veterans, Youth, and Physically Challenged on outings. There will always be a minimum of 2 adult volunteers on each pontoon – one to captain the watercraft and a mate to assist. You only need to be over 18 and be able to assist on the pontoon.
We provide both organizational training and on-the-water training for our volunteers. All you need to do is sign up. We encourage husband-wife, father-son, mother-daughter, etc. teams to volunteer as well as individuals who just love the water and fishing. What better way to spend a day with Seniors, Veterans, Youth, or Physically Challenged and also being on the water fishing or cruising?
If you have the heart and desire to help and would rather not be on the water, you can help by volunteering at parades, at other functions or fundraising events. You may have special talents that can benefit the Detroit Lakes Area LGF program.
