The Maiden Voyage of the LGF SS Sukke took place on Little Detroit Lake at the Detroit Lakes City Beach on June 18, 2008. TV 3 was there to cover the event which had Madalyn (Mrs. Paul) Sukke and local chapter volunteers sharing the wishes of the late Paul Sukke what go the ship sailing.
The first volunteers were trained on June 23, 2008.
The first “official” excursion took Golden Living Center guests fishing on July 15, 2008.
